Oppression

Oh, heartless men with faces of angels
who took away their sacred belongings
So many lies, so much mistreatment.

Oh, heartless men with no souls
Oppressors, thieves, and liars
Evil ways ruled their lives and
Love for money was their drive.

Oh, evil men took away the children
Kept them away from maternal love
Enslaved, christianized, and abused them
And destroyed their culture with no remorse.

So much despair brought consequences
to their fragile hearts and innocent faces
And trying to survive the
appalling injustice
They drank themselves to misery and poverty.

Colored Hearts

Colored faces alienated
by the stupor of the white
by the inherited privilege
that helps them be disguised.

Their voice is understood
Their words are spoken truth
They get credit for everything
And attributed what is not.

They  know how all works
But they don’t want to give it up
They prefer to look away,
take advantage and don’t say.

Will they ever come to senses?
Of what is being done
To the hearts of the unheard
To the colors of the world.
